Norbreck Castle Hotel
The Norbreck Castle Hotel gives the Golden 8 Ball its unique all-under-one-roof atmosphere.
At the heart of the event is the Norcalympia, a huge arena inside the hotel with space for 42 pool tables, each with its own trestle tables and seating so teams can stay together and watch the action right next to the table they are playing on.
There’s a large bar inside the arena, plus a restaurant and café on site for meals throughout the weekend. Your room, the pool, the bar, food and entertainment are all in the same venue.
No taxis. No driving. No travelling between venues. Just check in, settle in and enjoy the weekend.
The hotel has a main restaurant, serving breakfast and evening meals. There is also an onsite cafe for lunch, coffee and light refreshments during the day. The Conservatory bar often has evening entertainment and is open all day and night. The playing arena has its own bar, open throughout the event. Copper Face Jack’s is located at the side of reception and has a large sports screen, pool table and gaming machines.
The Norbreck Castle even has its own 36 seat cinema and games room, meaning there’s plenty to do without leaving the hotel.
Spindles Health and Leisure Club has a great range of facilities including swimming pool, state of the art gym, sauna and spa. Children’s facilities include a splash pool to have some fun in!

About the venue
A VENUE WITH REAL HISTORY
The Norbreck Castle Hotel has been part of Blackpool’s story since 1869, beginning life as a grand private residence before developing into the famous Norbreck Hydro — a fashionable health and leisure resort by the sea.
In its Hydro days, guests came to relax, socialise and enjoy facilities that were impressive for the time, including a swimming pool filled with seawater, tennis courts at the front of the hotel and a range of leisure facilities designed to make the most of its seaside setting.
As Blackpool grew into one of Britain’s best-known holiday resorts, the Norbreck also expanded and evolved. Over the decades it became one of the town’s best-known large hotels and event venues, welcoming generations of visitors and hosting professional snooker tournaments, political conferences, live entertainment, exhibitions and major sporting events.
Its size and character have always made it a natural home for big gatherings, and that tradition continues today. With its huge event spaces, extensive accommodation and everything contained within one venue, the Norbreck remains perfectly suited to large-scale weekends away.
More than 150 years after it first opened, the Norbreck is still bringing people together — and today it provides the perfect home for the Golden 8 Ball.

You never have to leave the building. The Norbreck Castle keeps players fed and watered all weekend. Four bars, an eat-all-you-can breakfast and a three course buffet, plus a bar in the playing arena.

Each morning the Norbreck Castle serve a cooked ‘eat-all-you-can’ breakfast buffet with a selection of traditional and continental options.
Simply walk in, take a seat and help yourself!

Norbreck dinner options include a three course, self-service buffet which is made up of traditional English dishes and contemporary cuisine. Eat as much as you want.
Guests must book a table/time with hotel reception. Guests will be seated by staff and served a starter and drinks.
Guests that are playing can simply arrive at restaurant and wait to be seated.
No sittings after 8pm. Please try to arrive no later than 7.45pm. The restaurant will try their best to sit people up until 8pm.
Match days
Plan meals around your fixtures. The organisers are not responsible for players that fail to get their meal, and no refunds will be given.

Playing Arena Bar
The arena bar is open for the duration of the event and serves a range of drinks. They have introduced 4 pint pitchers especially for our events to save on bar visits and queuing.
Coffee & cake
Java Lounge Café Bar
Enjoy a selection of coffees, teas, cakes and light snacks at our relaxed and informal Java Lounge Café Bar. Extremely competitively priced, offering free Wi-Fi internet connection and an outdoor seating area, this café bar is the perfect meeting spot.

Conservatory Bar
The Hotel’s Conservatory Bar offers a wide range of beverages in a cosy and comfortable setting with sea views and entertainment. It is open from 12pm till late.
Adults only
Copper Face Jack’s Bar
As an adults-only bar, here you can enjoy an undisturbed evening with friends in a lively atmosphere. All big sporting events will also be played on large screens throughout the premises.
Please do not bring your own alcohol into the arena. It is against the law!
It is against licensing laws and those found drinking their own alcohol in the arena risk being ejected by the hotel and will therefore be disqualified from the competition. No refunds. Pints from the bar are cheap and helps support the hotel.
